1)He is proud because he has helped many people through all the money he has donated.  We also know that he is proud because he is dieing of cancer but he wants Greg to make sure that he has the school finished and a picture to show him before he dies.
2)The thing that intrests me the most about this chapter is that he has had kids and that he has completed his first school. He set the corporation up out of his homes basement. He worked all the time for these people. and took nothing in return.
