Gaggle
Gaggle mail is provided via the Web. No hardware or software is required by your school other than an internet connection. Students can log onto the Gaggle Web site using any computer. They can log in from any computer in your classroom, the library computer or their computer at home. We encourage students to do their email outside of the classroom. This saves valuable class time, and as the teacher you're still in control.

BrainPOP - Butterflies
Metamorphosis
How does a caterpillar turn into a butterfly? Tim and Moby tell you all about metamorphosis in this BrainPOP movie. Learn which creatures go through different kinds of metamorphoses, plus the difference between complete and incomplete metamorphosis. Discover all of the stages of complete metamorphosis and what type of development takes place in each stage. You’ll also find out about what happens in each stage of incomplete metamorphosis. Things sure are changing around here!

Monarch Butterfly - Time Lapse Video
Captured here is a time-lapse movie of the lifespan of a Monarch butterfly, condensing about two weeks of activity into a short video clip. I kept the caterpillar in a jar supplied with milkweed leaves and ventilation through holes punched in the lid. After days of munching on the leaves, it's interesting to observe the caterpillar 's circling behavior the day before transforming into a chrysalis, although the actual formation of the chryslis occurred at night and is not shown in the video.

BrainPop Jr - Migration
When an animal migrates, it moves to a different place. Animals migrate for many different reasons. Some animals migrate to find better sources of food, water, or shelter. Other animals migrate to visit particular breeding grounds, rear their young, or find warmer climates. The frequency of animals’ migrations also differs. Some animals migrate seasonally, others migrate once in a lifetime or only to breed, and others are nomadic and migrate wherever the best resources and environments are at that time.
