    Illinois Spotlight School
The Illinois State Board of Education has recognized Unity Point School as a Spotlight School—a high poverty school where high academic performance is closing the "achievement gap."  Criteria for selecting these schools are rigorous. All schools must be making Adequate Yearly Progress. At least half the students are from low-income families and at least 60% (62.5% in 2008) must be passing the state achievement tests in both reading and in mathematics.  In 2009, 90% of Unity Point students met or exceeded these standards. Congratulations faculty and students on this accomplishment!  Unity Point has achieved the Illinois Honor Roll award each year since 2006.
