they are lazy to work without orders and they are very hungry

I think because they miss him or because he was always loyal and honest.

Why have most of the men stopped working hard and completing daily chores while John Smith is gone?


Because, he use to yell at other people and tell other people that if they don't work they don't eat.

Captain Smith is the only one who enforces the chores, and if he is not there everyone thinks the chores are not important.

Nobody was making them do there jobs.

I think they have stopped working because Capitan John Smith usually keeps Jamestown running smoothly by making sure everybody does their chores.

The reason the people of Jamestown stopped working hard is because since  John Smith is gone, there is no one to push them until they do it.

I think they don't really get how to do the chores with no instructions, and nobody was making them. 

The man aren't working because John Smith is gone and they didn't want to work before because John Smith was there to order them.

The gentlemen have stopped working, because John Smith has left so they aren't scared of anyone since there is no one lead the people.And the people don't work as hard.
