My favorite part is when Captain Smith stands up to Master Wingfield because I think Captain Smith is my favorite character that stands up for himself when he is under pressure. I think that they will go to a different spot to settle,so they won't have to deal with mean Indians.

Tolga

My favorite part of the story was when Samuel beat up Richard and Richard and Samuel was bleeding. I think most of the people are going to die and Indians will be slaves. Also there will be a war.

My favorite part of the story was when Richard and Samuel beat each other up and Caption John Smith dragged Samuel away. Why that's my favorite is it was the most exciting! What I think will happen is they will settle and receive constant attacks from the native Americans.

My favorite part of the book is right now because they finally reach land and can start making houses and now there is a lot of action. I think that the next part is that they will build houses and try to trade with the Indians.

My favorite part so far, is when Samuel and Richard fight, because it is very interesting. I think that they aren't going to do so well because they are for focused on gold than crops.

My favorite part of the book is when they go on the island and Captain Smith tells about when he was a slave and he stood up to his master.I predict that they are going to try to settle there but the Indians will keep attacking them and then they might move to somewhere else.

When they came to Virgina! They have came a very long journey. The most important part we read so far is when they came to Virgina and they saw the Indians. When or if they see the Indians again they might trade with them. They will be searching for gold and for food.

My favorite part of the book is when they get to Virginia. Because thats where they were trying to get from the begging of the story. I think that later on the story the people who were attacking they are going to get friendly.

My favorite part of the book so far is the part of the sword fish and the thresher shark trying to hunt the big whale. Because it was very interesting when Captain Smith was teaching Samuel a lesson that two smaller things can defeat a much bigger thing just like the whale because it is like two skills versing one.

MY FAVORITE PART IS WHERE THE TWO BOYS GET INTO A FIGHT AND CAPTAIN SMITH CHAINS Samuel UP

My favorite part was, when Captain John Smith demonstrated to Samuel about the commoners and the gentlemen. He described the whale as gentlemen and the swordfish and the thresher shark as commoners. He said that even though the whale is the biggest fish in the ocean, it doesn't mean others can't eat him. It means, even though gentlemen are in high class in England, it doesn't mean that they are more powerful than commoners, out of England. I think that they are going to move to another place because, the place they settled right now is not Virginia. I don't think that Captain John Smith will die.

Mary

My favorite part is where Captain Smith teaches Samuel the lesson about not fighting others. Because it proves that Samuel can be taught and it seems like Captain Smith is sort of expressing himself. And using his anger on Samuel instead of the gentlemen!

My favorite part in the book is when Samuel and Richard are mad at each other and they finally settle the madness out. Its  my favorite part because Samuel has been mad at Richard the whole trip and Richard has been calm and trying not to nothing. In Jamestown I think when they settle there they are going to have a lot of problems with other groups of people because the other are not going to want them in there land and they are going to want to move.
