1. First, is that Greg has made a school with the money he gave to him. Second, Greg gave the students education for life.

2. The 2 parts that interested me were that Greg made more schools easily and that Greg also made a women's center were they can enjoy time with their freinds.

1)He thought the Korphe school was magnificent, and Greg used Hoerni's money to build it.
2)I find that the CAI and how they built 3 schools in only one year, which is a lot and that really was fast, which I thought was very, very amazing, and that Hushe Valley only had no educated woman except Shakeela, I was very surprised that Shakeela was the ONLY person to become educated EVER in Hushe Valley.

1. It shows that Jean is proud b/c Greg was able to make a school and more with his money. Also that the school was incredible and if Jean didn't give Greg the money it wouldn't have become so terrific.
2.I really liked the part where Amira was born, I thought that was a really sweet part. Also, I really liked how Greg made a womens' center for the women. That was so touching, b/c he had just finished making a school and now a womens' center.

1.he calls a old friend and tells him,he gets happy when watching the video.
2. his institute built 3 schools in one school, he built a trench for clean water.

1) Hoerni gave the Central Institute of Asia one million dollars. I could tell he cares about that school because it says "he wanted to ensure that the organization was solid on ground-just like the Korphe School"
2) I thought that one part in this chapter that really stood out from the rest, was when it talks about Mr. Parvi handing them the books. I though that was really sweet how Tahira described what she felt like when Mr. Parvi handed her the books.

1. Jean Hoerni donated 1 million dollars to the CAI to make sure it was on "solid ground", and he wanted to see the school the CAI built more than anything before he died.

2. I think it's kind of interesting that the CAI office in the basement laundry room of his house, and the fact that no matter how brilliant or clever or smart or wise a girl was, she either couldn't get an education or, if she could, she wouldn't be treated as fairly as the boys.

2. I liked it where Greg made a school and and he made a place called womens center and where people could hang out and talk.

1. After he saw the picture, he asked his friend what he's done in the last fifty years, and Jean said that he built a school.
2.An interesting, but sad fact is that a third of the infants villages have died from the lack of clean water.I didn't know water was such a problem.Also, what also interests me is the speed of how fast they've built schools.

1. Jean showed he liked his job by him saying he needed to see a picture of the new Korphe school and he gave the CAI a million dollars to make sure the school was safe.
2.  The people trying to clean up the mountians and to help people, and how many schoolsthey built in a year, a summer even! Also, Sakeela the only girl educated woman who wants to go to medical school.

1. He was very happy about the people of Korphe getting an education. After he watched the videos of the kids running around he didn't feel angry about dying.
2. I thought it was interesting how most girls don't go to school and how they teach other girls what they have learned. This was interesting because didn't know that. Also I thought it was interesting that the girls in most places weren't allowed to go to school. I thought this was interesting because girls in America are allowed to go to school.

1.I knew that Heorni was proud of his part in the Central Asia Institute because when he saw the video of the children of Korphe singing Mary Had a Little Lamb he was very proud of himself and was happy about seeing the new school that he helped build before he died.
2.I think that the fact that Greg made an office for the Central Asia Institute in his basement laundry room was really cool because you don't really see a person making an office for a worldwide program in his/her basement everyday.

1.Greg shows Jean Hoerni the picture of the school and it makes Hoerni give Greg some money to build more schools.



2.The 2 interesting details to me are that many people come to greg asking for a school in their village and that every body wants to share tea with him.

1.It shows hes proud because he was able to give them more an proper education and school building with the money he gave him. and he donated more money to build more.
2.I think getting the CAI to build schools was interesting because he was more successful than i thought he would be. And making it to where more girls to go to school because in America it doesn't matter what gender you are to go to school.

1. Hoerni said that the school built in Korphe was "Magnifique" (magnificent). He didnt die quietly, he was angry about dying but when Greg held his hand and showed him the videos he took in Korphe, of the children singing, his anger started to fade. He said to Greg, "I love you like a son."

2. I thought it was very interesting that Shakeela, Mohammed Aslam Khan's daughter, was so strong as to ignore what everyone else was saying, and get her education. I find this interesting because if it had been me, I most likely would have been very discouraged by what people were saying, and I might have given up my education. I also thought it was interesting that Mohammed Aslam Khan had to go so very far and even cross an icy river just to go to school. I think it is sad that he had to do so much to get an education. All that I have to do to go to school is rides my bike to the bus, and I wish he had had the ease that I had.
