1. How has your understanding of Muslims and/or Muslim culture changes from reading this story?

1,I did not now what there gods name was,I was surprised that the girls got school because I heard that they didn't get any.
2,to make mud bricks,they need water to survive,so the crops had water.

1.I learned in this story that children in Pakistan,well back then that they didn't have schools. And that um... i don't know but in this story, Greg got kidnapped because they didn't know him and they let him go because he built schools for children in Pakistan. Even if Pakistan is poor,the children really have fun and they were very happy that Greg built them a school.And also,that when Greg wasn't in Pakistan a was a teacher had to go to a house once a week just to do school!

2.Earlier in the chapter 10 through 14?It said they mixed the water with muddy stuff and hardened it. So it would be home made cement,to build the school. In 1 chapter,I read that it said that there crops were dying???so they needed water for crops and animals.

1) I learned about the Muslim culture in this book. Honestly I knew nothing about it, and Three Cups of Tea taught me a lot about it, like they are really generous. They helped Greg in many ways. They gave him shelter and food.
2) One reason why a water pump was needed in Skardu is because their only source of water was hours long of a walk and they need something to drink. Another reason is to bathe.

1.I learned that in the Balti culture, when you are served one cup of tea, you are considered a stranger, two cups of tea, you are considered a close friend, and three cups of tea means that you are a part of the family.
2. They need a water pump because if they don't get water , their crops will die and they won't have water to loosen up the dirt for making mud to use as cement to build houses. The people also won't have water to survive and will eventually die of thirst.

1.I have learned that not all Muslims are bad or terrorists, but most are kind and struggle to make a living.
2.There is no water there, the nearest river is a hour of walk away, and a lot of people are settling in that area, running from war.

1. It has changed because i used to think that The people of Pakistan hated all Americans but now i learned that that is not true.

I knew some about Muslims, but not much. Their gods' names I didn't know, and how there school was run was another thing. I learned about how it is very important when a family is giong to have a baby boy, how that is very important.
2. There is a need for water so that no one will die of thirst, also to make mud-houses, and  to help grow the crops.

1. I think about it as something very religious, a very generous culture, always caring for others

2. #1 is that there are many families in this place with sand dunes and that they can die from no water. #2 is that many people will be coming here so they need water to bathe. And #3 is that
the nearest river is a hour away. Water is more important than food.

1)I learned that Muslim's God was called "Alla Almighty", and I originally didn't know that Muslims had a God.
2)That a source of water was an hour's walk away, they needed to grow crops and couldn't without water, and the people couldn't live without water.

1.This book changed my understanding about them because I found only some of them are terrorists and that they are friendly.

1. My understanding of Muslims has changed a lot because I used to not know anything about them, and now I know a little about their culture.

2. Skardu needed a water pump because they would dehydrate if they didn't have one, they needed water to pour over the dirt to make mud to make mud-blocks for houses, and they need to bathe, I hope.

1) This book has told me more about the Muslim than any other book I have read. The Muslim were really caring and cared about Greg. They gave him shelter, food, and more. I learned that they are in war with India, I learned the lessons they taught Greg, and the Muslims are really different than us Americans.
2) They needed the water pump in Skardu because they weren't able to make tea, to make supplies for the school, and they needed water to survive.

1 i barely knew anything about Muslims and this book has taught me alot like that the muslims are nice i thought that they were mean

1 I thought muslims were usually voilent because I heard they killed other people and even themselves for their god. Now I learned they are brave hard working people.

1. Before I read this book I knew very little about the Muslim culture and the Muslim people. I knew that their god was Allah and that the people were just like any of us. Now, I know that they share three cups of tea, and I think that I understand their people and their culture a lot better.

2. First, the nearest river was an hour's walk away. Second, that river was the only source of water in the area. Third, if they got to the river, they would have to walk very far, and uphill.

1.It has changed very much at one time when I first heard about the Twin towers collapsing  I thought it was the people from Pakistan and that they were all bad people but over the years and especially in this book I have learned that they struggle and that they are nicer than most people think they are.  
2.The water is a long walk away, the water was the only scource in the area were they were, and if they wanted a weeks worth of water they would have to bring heavy buckets and carry them back with water weighing them down and making them tire.

1. It has changed because I thought Muslims didn't be1live in the lord but they do and based off the book  I thought  muslims were all evil but some are nice,

1)Greg and others were captured because they didnt know who he was and they have there own god just like many other religions. So they are not that different.
