1. He was born in Minnesota, at age of eleven he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, and just after Greg's fourteenth birthday, the hospital his father had worked so hard to create was ready to open.

2. His mother is principal of Westside Elementary School and she asked Greg to come to her school and tell them the children of Korphe.

2)By sending letters to famous people asking for a donation, went to his mother, a school principal, to tell the kids about Korphe and collecting donations for them, and asking a very, very rich man named Jean Hoerni for donations.
3)Hoerni donated most of the money needed to create the school.
Kishwar helps Greg by showing him how to use the computer, thus helping him type letters faster than by a typewriter.

1. His mother, Jerene, was pregnant with him and they moved to Africa. When he climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and looked down the summit from the mountain he became hooked on climbing mountains. On July 24th 1992,he fell nearly 800 vertical feet, and when he called his mother she told him his sister, Christa, was dead.

2. He sent letters to anyone who had money and might want to help. At first he was far short of the twelve thousand dollars he'd figured he'd need to build a school, even with his mother's school's donation, but then he found the American Himalayan Foundation. One of the climbers at the foundation, Jean Hoerni, donated the twelve thousand dollars Greg needed to build his school.

3. Kishwar Syed taught him how to use a computer which helped him send 580 letters, and  Jean Hoerni donated the twelve thousand dollars Mortenson needed to build his school.

Greg's mother (the principal of an Elementary school in River Falls, Wisconsin) asked Greg to teach the children in that school about the children in Korphe and what he was trying to do for him. Greg soon found out he was successful. The children wanted to help, so they started a Pennies for Pakistan.

 Kishwar Syed helped Greg learn how to use a computer properly. That helped Greg send all the letters to famous people that he thought would be genorous enough to donate. Jean Hoerni donated the money that Greg needed to build the school. Both people played an important role in Greg's mission.
