1) He was a good climber because he grew up next to Mt. Kilimanjaro, he was so helpful because he grew up helping people of Tanzania, he was a Nurse because his sis was gave a disease and he wanted to help her.

2) Yes, He tried to live as cheaply as possible and asked many people to help including the American Himalayan Foundation.

3) Syed, a man from Pakistan, teaches him to use a computer that he uses to send out letters asking for money. Jean Hoerni, a rich man who invented how to store info on a computer chip, gave Greg $12,000 for the school.

1. At the age of 11 Mortenson climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. His dad opened a hospital for the Africans. He graduated from the University of South Dakota so of course he was happy..  

2.Mortenson asked famous people to give him money. He also asked the American Humaun Society. It was called pennis for peace.

3.Kishwar Syed gave him 12,000 dollars for him to buy the supplies to make the school with. Jean Huasni teaches Greg how to type on the computer.

1. One important detail of Greg's childhood is that he lived in Africa, and learn to speak Swahili.
2. For him to raise money for the school, he wrote 580 letters to famous people like Michael Jackson. His mom was a principal in a school at Wisconsin. He went there and talked to the kids there. The kids started raising money, and called it, Pennies for Pakistan. The raised 62,345 pennies! He also talked to a scientist that is probably really rich right now. That scientist sent Greg $12,000 in check. Even though he got the money to build a school, he needed money for the plane. He sold books, and finally he sold his car.
3. They helped Greg raise money for the fundraising.

2nd question=
Greg tries to raise money for the school by sending out letters to people. He only managed to get $723.45 through mail but, a mountain climer named Tom Vaughan published  an article about what Greg was doing helped get the rest.

3rd question=
Kishwar Syed helped Greg type 580 letters by teaching him how to use a computer. Jean Hoerni helped Greg by sending him a check in the mail for twelve thousand dollars.

1. He grew up in Tanganyika, Africa, where his father managed to build a hospital. When he was eleven years old, he climbed Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest mountain, and that's how he became hooked on climbing. When he got older his parents couldn't afford college, so he enrolled in the U.S. military for two years.

2.Greg  tries to raise money for the school by writing 580 letters to people all over the U.S. , and he only managed to raise a little bit of money at first.

3.Syed helps by teaching him how to use a computer. Jean Hoerni gives Greg twelve thousand dollars toward the school for the kids in Korphe.

1-his sister christa, died of a seizure, his father got cancer, and when he was 34, he fell 800 ft. and only put his shoulder  out of joint, and broke his arm.
2- at first he typed 580 letters and at first only made 100 dollars. then, his mother, who was then the principal of Elementary School in River Falls asked him to come and talk to the kids about what he was doing, they started something called pennies for peace, and raised $623.45. but that wasn't enough to build a school. Jean Hoerni was the one who did it, he donated 12,000 dollars and gave greg the money he needed to build a school.
3-Jean was the one who donated 12,000 dollars, and kishwar helped greg print all the 580 letters, by giving him a computer.

1) He grew up in Tanzania, Africa. At the age of eleven Greg climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. When he moved to the united states he was bullied because he said he was from Tanzania.

2) He asks the kids of his mothers school to donate pennies to help build schools. Then he had an article made in a climbing magazine to tell of his adventure and his need of money. One man called and gave him the exact amount of money that he needed. He was successful, but he had to get back to Korphe.

3) Kishwar Syed taught Greg to use the computer because he was from Pakistan. Jean Hoerni gave Greg enough money to build the school.

1) His Parents helped build schools from the ground up.  He also traveled alot because of it. His sister was in a car accident causing problems with her brain.  This injury caused her to have seizures.  She died in her sleep when she was 23 right before going on a trip.
2) He raises money by asking for pennies. He also asks for help from a very wealthy man.  This man did give him the money but told him not to screw up.
3) Greg was given large amounts of money from Jean. This helped him to get materials to build the school.  Kishwar helped Greg get all his supplies at a good price.

1. One important detail was that he lived in Moshi, a town near Mount Kilimanjaro, where his father managed to open a hospital to help people and train doctors. Another important thing that happened in the story was that when Greg was eleven years old he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. The third important detail was that when Greg's little sister Christa was eight he started getting seizures as a result of a vaccination she got and was diagnosed with epilepsy.

2. In order to get money he sent letters to famous people asking them to donate any amount of money to help him build the school. Also his mother was a principle at a school and she asked him to give a speech about what he was trying to do. The children started a program called Pennies For Pakistan. They raised 62,345 pennies! Overall he was very successful.

3. Kishwar Syed taught Greg how to use a computer to send all the letters he needed to raise money. Jean Hoerni gave Greg a check with $12,000 in it.
