Parent PBIS Survey: View Response #21

Please check all grade levels that your child or children are in this year.

3rd

What do you know about PBIS?

Nothing

Have you heard or know about the Trojan Traits: Respectful, Responsible & Ready?

Yes

Does your child show you or talk with you about receiving Trojan Tickets?

Yes

If your child talks about receiving Trojan Tickets, what do they say they recieve them for?

Being nice to someone or following the rules.

Do you feel your child's behavior has improved in any area based on the receipt of Trojan Tickets?

Yes

If you feel your child's behavior has improved based on the receipt of Trojan Tickets please explain how.

It seems they think about taking the extra step in order to get the trojan ticket. It seems to have more of an effect on my third grader v. my kindergartener.

Has your child talked with you about spending their Trojan Tickets at the Trojan Store?

Yes

If your child has talked with you about the Trojan Store, what do they say?

They just tell me what they bought.

Do you feel your child has positive support when it comes to his/her behavior at school?

Yes

What could be done to improve the behavioral support your child is receiving?

My child received a written warning at one time, which I'm sure was warranted; however, there were apparent problems for a while prior to getting the written warning and I didn't know there were problems until he received the written warning. I somewhat felt that it could have been brought to my attention prior to the written warning. On the other hand, the written warning was very effective. There's not a place to mark for kindergarten on this survey. I would like to add that television as part of the kindergarten daily curriculum is questionable. Maybe a couple of days in the week, but everyday is a little much and the stuff they watch is sometimes inappropriate. Even though I won't have any more kindergarteners I would like to see television changed from everyday to just every now and then. Rest time could involve reading, looking at books, drawing, or at least watching something educational - not Monsters, Inc. or the the real Cinderella with Brandy. Thank you.
