PROFEESIONAL DEVELOPMENT MODELS
Unity Point K-8 teachers may choose from two different levels of participation.
 
STEP 1:  Attend Kickoff/Model Classroom Workshop- 2 hours
STEP 2:  Take LoTi Assessments- Create, as a goal setting activity, an Individual Professional Development Plan in accordance with the survey results as the framework for the individual’s learning.    
·         Level I and Level II Grant Participants                                                                   
 
STEP 3:  Participate in Unity Point School trainings/workshops
 
                Level I: Minimum of 4 hours                                                                                                    
·         Trainings for ipods, MacBooks, probes, Web 2.0 tools
·         Taught in-house by UP Technology and Content Area Mentors
·         4 CPDU’s 
 
Level II: Intel Teach Essentials Course- 32 hours                                                                
·         4 hours a week for 8 weeks- course to be offered in 2 cohorts:                       
o    Monday/Tuesday- 3:30-7:30
o    Saturdays-   8:00-12:00
·         Approximately 20 hours of mentor assisted homework to be completed as an individual or a team
·         Taught by UP Intel Master Teachers: Kathy Fuller, Tom Harness, Joellen Sullivan, Izetta Wiggs
·         32 CPDUs
 
STEP 4:  Create and Post on the Web Server a Unit/Lesson Plan Integrating Technology 
·         Level I and Level II (already a part of the Intel Course)- can be completed as an individual or as a team
