1) The lesson that Haji Ali teaches Greg about the Balti culture is you can't keep talking and saying things without the other person getting to fit one word in. You must have patience. Americans do not, but people in Balti do. They have a lot. Haji Ali's exact words were " You can't tell the mountains what to do. You must learn to listen to them. So now I am asking you to listen to me."
2) The first tea you drink with a person in Balti you are strangers. The second cup of tea you drink you are an honored guest. The third cup of tea you drink with a Balti you become family forever, and the Balti people are prepared to do anything for you even if you die.
3) Greg thinks Haji Ali is very wise because he teaches him good things like he tells Greg helpful tips like: Americans think we have to build relationships fast, but people in Korphe think relationships build as slowly as a school project. He also thinks Haji Ali is very wise because he would pay any price to make sure the children of Korphe get an education. When someone took half of their land, that's all he seemed to care about - the children's education.
The wisest person I know would be my sister, Taylor, because she gives me a lot of tips with my hair, fashion, and life in general. She is very helpful to me, and has a lot of street smarts. I believe she is one of the wisest people I know. (I know a lot but she came to mind because she was very helpful not to long ago)

2). Three cups of tea means that the first cup you drink with them you are a stranger, the second time you drink tea you are an honored guest, and the third time you are part of the family.
3). Haji Ali is wise to Greg b/c he taught him how to be patient, cared about the children's education, and was wise about the bridge and the school.
The wisest person I know is probably my sister Shanaz, b/c she has told me great tips in life and what to do and what not to do.
