1: Greg's Dad came home from work one day and said they needed teachers in Tanganyika,Africa, so Greg's parents went to Africa, and that is where Greg was born.
When Greg was growing up he had a foster brother named Moshi.
Greg's dad built a hospital in Africa called Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre.
2:Greg was very cheap with his money. He tried to save every penny he could. So he slept in his car wrapped in the sleeping bag that kept him warm on K2. He was successful.

1. Greg Mortenson was born in Minnesota, in 1958 when he was 3 months old his parents took him along a great adventure of their lives they went to Africa, and he learned to speak Swahili.

2.He first sent out 580 letters to people he thought would him, and then he went to a school and the kids raised $623.45. Then somebody he sent his letter to gave him a check for $12,000.

3.Syed taught him how to use a computer because he thought Greg was doing a great thing and wanted to help him. Hoerni gave him the check for $12,000 and that helped Greg build the school.
