1. Why does Mortenson drink tea with Haji Ali before he tells him about building the school?
1a. It is impolite to just start talking to someone, so he has to wait and drink the tea first.

2. What new obstacle does Mortenson face in chapter 8?
2a. He still has to face the problem of building the bridge to take the supplies for the school to Korphe, but now he has lost his girlfriend and his job.


3. Retell, in your own words, the hunt that Mortenson participates in. How does this hunt reflect the values and traditions of the Balti community?
3a.First of all, Twaha places a special Medallion around Greg's neck. This is to keep away bad spirits away. Next, they found a dead ibex and a herd of sixteen more grazing above it. Finally, they caught up with one, and unlike hunting in the U. S., here Twaha said a prayer before shot the ibex

3. Twaha, Haji Ali's son, invites Greg on an ibex hunt. It shows that the Balti people rely on ibex as food.

3. Greg Mortensen learns a lot about Balti's traditions and values during the hunt. Greg finds out when he is invited on  an ibex hunt that people in Balti rely ibex as food.

3: First of all there was a down poor of rain and one of the roads that Greg needs to get the supplies into Korphe is flooded. So men from teenagers to grown men walk the 12 hours to carry the barbed wire back to Korphe. Once they carried the wire back to Korphe. The men dug foundations for the bridge ,but the concrete wouldn't dry in the rain.  Twaha invites Greg to go on a inbex hunt with him.

On the 7th day Twaha shot a male ibex, and killed it.It reflects how much they value their bullets. Plus, the use of the tomar indicates they believe in amulets and stuff like that. It also shows how much they value the meat of the ibex.
